Fairview is a third generation, family owned farm in Paarl, South Africa. Located in the Cape winelands on the south western slopes of Paarl Mountain, the property has a winemaking history dating back to 1699 and has been bottling wine under the Fairview label since 1974 (a fantastic vintage at Fairview, by the way!).

Fairview is currently owned and run by Charles Back, whose innovative approach to winemaking and marketing has helped to make Fairview one of South Africa’s leading wine producers and has assisted in developing the reputation of South African wine. His quirky Goats do Roam brand has also been very successful internationally since the distinctive yellow label was first released in 1998. Fairview was the first to produce goats’ milk cheese in South Africa and now has the country’s leading range of artisanal Jersey cows’ milk as well as goats’ milk cheese. If you would like to find out more about Fairview, please visit the main site.

The aim of my posts on this blog, is to give you insight into what really goes on on a wine farm in South Africa, as well as to keep you up to date with news and events on the farm and in our various markets.
